Update: Since the suspension, the only further word from Department of National Defense is that the reasons for the suspension do not include a breach of national security.
BackgroundFollowing allegations of sexual assault and suicide, senior staff in the Canadian Armed Forces have ordered a thorough review of RMC. The report was to be delivered by year’s end of 2016.The panel of eight, including current and former officers, will examine all areas of the military college with special attention to the morale and mental state of the cadets. They are also tasked with reviewing staff selection practices and training.
Concerns were quickly raised, however, over the exclusion of non-military personnel.
